Arcane Awakenings is a professionally curated, edited, and designed urban fantasy anthology. It features 17 original stories from 18 authors, all centered on the introduction of magic to each hero’s life. While every story stands on its own, together they create a larger thematic experience centered on one question: What happens when magic awakens or emerges in our world?

Urban fantasy stories usually begin after magic has become part of the world. Hidden societies already exist, plotting and scheming while hoarding arcane knowledge and manipulating human events. Supernatural wars are fought behind the scenes, and monsters roam the streets looking for unsuspecting victims.
But where does the story truly begin?
Who was the first person to realize magic was real?
What caused the veil between worlds to blur, merging the physical world and the realms beyond?
Was it an ancient race of beings entering the modern world? A mage unleashing a forgotten ritual finally completed? A divine awakening of angelic beings? Was it the creation of a new god? Or the clash of two armies wielding unknown elements, resulting in unforeseen consequences?
