Today we’re excited to host a cover reveal for Such Sweet Sorrow by Artemis Quinn, a grief horror and gothic mystery, which is launching a crowdfund campaign on Backerkit this October as part of The Book Bazaar 2026!
Such Sweet Sorrow is a love letter to the people who have dealt with tragedy and come out on the other side— different, but dealing. It’s for the people who know that sometimes the dark is a comfort, and true monstrosity comes other sources.
Intrigued? Let’s learn more:
Such Sweet Sorrow is a grief horror and gothic mystery that tugs at your heartstrings and navigates the free-fall exhaustion and numbness that loss provides. The story follows Rebecca Sinclaire, a 29 year old woman that is studying for her Master’s in Art History at the University of Chicago. Rebecca’s parents die in a crash that leaves her devastated. She was the executor of their wills, and she decides to move from Chicago to Upstate New York to handle their affairs.
The Sinclaire Estate is an old vacation home that’s been in her house for centuries. She thought it would be comforting, but the house feels… Different. Something is off. Not to mention, her aunt doesn’t take too kindly to being left out of their will, and fully intends to fight it…
Will Rebecca be able to navigate the loss of her parents, the sudden transplant into a new community, the strange happenings in her house, and the tension in her familial ties?
