Saturday Spotlight for A Shadow’s Vendetta

Welcome to our Saturday Spotlight feature where we at Read Indie Fantasy will be hosting a new spotlight every Saturday to showcase the incredible talent of self-published fantasy authors!

Please welcome T.J. Cooper and A Shadow’s Vendetta, book one in A Bond of Silver, a classic high fantasy tale with Tolkien-inspired elves and epic battles.

Compelling Action. Famed Heroes. A world of beauty and peril.

A new war looms on the horizon…

The Elves have established a glorious Imperium to stand guard against those who serve the Under Realm. Now, rumors spread to the capital city of Lorthal about an army of Rusca amassing in the Far North. The Imperium must stand strong in these trying times and elect a new High Warden to lead their armies against those who threaten their safety.

Fordi, an Elf captured by the Rusca, is being escorted by his captors to a secret stronghold deep within Imperium territory. Along their way, the Rusca are ambushed by the Elven hero known as the Shadow. Fordi is saved, but his rescuer holds a grudge of vengeance he is determined to fulfill against the barbaric Men of the Far North.

A Shadow’s Vendetta marks the beginning of A Bond of Silver. A tale for those who enjoy the Elven mythology of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Silmarillion, the suspenseful action of comics like Batman, and the tonal nature of video games like Diablo.

A Shadow’s Vendetta by T.J. Cooper is the first in the A Bond of Silver series of classic fantasy.

About the Author

T.J. Cooper is the author of the A Bond of Silver series, his debut into the world independent publishing. He was born on December 28th, 1995 in Dallas, Texas within the United States of America.

With being a fan of fantasy and sci-fi, or just being an all-around nerd, it was only a matter of time before T.J. began his journey into the world of writing about nerdy things. As a kid, films like Star Wars, The Lord of The Rings, Spider-Man, and Spy Kids, excited his imagination. Whenever it would snow, as it so often does in Texas (sarcasm implied), T.J. would often think he was on the snow planet of Hoth, reenacting the moment when Luke sees the ghostly blue image of Obi-Wan Kenobi telling him to go to the Dagobah System. A strange scene to reenact, but a fun one nonetheless, as he would crawl around in the snow pretending to be an injured Luke Skywalker.

As he grew older, he ventured further into the nerdom universe with books from the Star Wars universe and attempting his first read of The Lord of The Rings. Its safe to say that the Star Wars books were much lighter reading. However, going into young adulthood, T.J. found himself playing a video game called The Witcher III: Wild Hunt. After much encouragement from a close friend to finish the game, T.J would experience one of the greatest games ever created (and that’s a fact). Once he finished The Witcher III, T.J. would learn that there were books in which the game was based on. Wanting more of The Witcher, T.J. would consume the entire Witcher Saga of books within the span of a few months. Two things came about this read of T.J.’s. One, he found a new author he admired in Andrzej Sapkowski. Two, his obsession with reading fantasy had been rekindled.

From Andrzej Sapkowski’s work on The Witcher, T.J. would widen his range of authors to the likes of Brandon Sanderson, Brian McClellan, John Gwynne, Joe Abercrombie, and many more of the modern fantasy-scape of authors.
