Saturday Spotlight for Child of Vanris

Saturday Spotlight for Child of Vanris

Welcome to our Saturday Spotlight feature where we at Read Indie Fantasy will be hosting a new spotlight every Saturday to showcase the incredible talent of self-published fantasy authors!

Please welcome Nikki McCormack and Child of Vanris, an epic YA fantasy full of sword and sorcery adventure, fantastic worldbuilding that explores different cultures and languages, and found family.

At five years old, Kasiel was found with the pointed ends of his ears cut off. Despite that brutal start, heโ€™s lived twelve peaceful years with the man who took him in. Keeping his hair long over his mutilated ears helps him hide the fact that he is Vanrian, a child of the enemy.ย

Everything changes when mercenaries arrive hunting for Kasiel. The last people he expects to come to his rescue are Vanrian soldiers, one of whom claims to be his spirit brother, whatever that means. They plan to take him across the war zone to deliver him to his real father, a man whose name strikes terror in his enemies.

Meanwhile, the man who cut Kasielโ€™s ears will do anything to keep him out of his true fatherโ€™s hands, even if it means killing him.

Child of Vanris by Nikki McCormack is the first in The Warden’s Son series, a completed series of epic YA fantasy. Daughter of Vanris is a new upcoming series set in the same world.
