The Book Bazaar 2026 is an exciting collaborative crowdfunding event on Backerkit of 39 indie authors who have come together to raise funds for their campaigns. In celebration, and to help promote these authors, we’ll be featuring spotlights through the fundraising period for you to check and out and support! Within The Book Bazaar, you’ll find a variety of genres, including fantasy, sci-fi, horror, queer, and romance, as well as a variety of formats such as novels, novellas, series, anthologies, and audiobooks. There’s something for everyone!

The Forgotten Princess is the second book in the Eldritch Remnants series, which sees the return of Orn and Laela in their quest to discover why magic’s returned and seek answers at the Mistcoast Library. True to fashion, trouble finds them wherever they go.
This is a fantasy adventure dripping with eldritch horror vibes. If you love character-driven tales with a stabby princess and semi-lethal levels of snark, then this is foir you.
Remnants of magic remain locked away, but even the strongest binding can fail.
The Mistcoast Library sits outside of The Paladin’s influence, acting as a repository of knowledge of the world and magic, should the latter ever truly return.
An old knight, marked twice by magic, continues the search for answers as to why magic returns corrupted.
An elven princess, freed from The Paladin’s iron rule, begins to remember all that she has forgotten.
A Librarian from the Mistcoast Library, locked within, seeks magic’s true return.
Echoes of the past haunt each of them, but can they put the pieces together before the future becomes undone?

About the Author
My name is Matthew Siadak, and I am the author of The Backwards Knight, The Dark Side of Super, and now the Forgotten Princess. I have a number of short stories out in the world that you may or may not have read, and there’s many more tales I plan to tell. I currently reside somewhere in the Midwest, near enough to St. Louis that I can often say “hey, there’s the arch!” For as long as I can recall, I’ve loved storytelling. Whether spinning my own tales, or getting lost in books and video games, or even music and movies. All of that has brought me to where I am now.
An author of the fantastical, the horrible, and so much more.
I love to create: writing stories, baking treats, cooking epic dinners. I love to make and sometimes even break. I feel most alive, and like Not A Smart Man™, when I am learning something new. Which is a part of what I love (and hate) about writing. I will never be perfect, there is always something else to learn, or refine, and to grow.
Both as a writer and as a person.
